My family will get it anyway!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Many people say this to me, why should I make a Will? It will all go to my family anyway! This statement confirms the complete misunderstanding of many members of the public. <\/p>\n<p>On death if there is no Will in place a person\u2019s Estate will NOT NECESSARILY go to their family. If there is NO WILL an Estate will devolve in accordance with the Intestacy Rules. <\/p>\n<p>Examples of situations of how the Intestacy Rules work include:<br \/>\n\u2022\t<strong>Even <\/strong><strong>if <\/strong><strong>part <\/strong><strong>way <\/strong><strong>through <\/strong><strong>a <\/strong><strong>divorce <\/strong><strong>your <\/strong><strong>soon <\/strong><strong>to <\/strong><strong>be <\/strong><strong>ex<\/strong>&#8211;<strong>spouse <\/strong><strong>could <\/strong><strong>inherit<\/strong>!<br \/>\n\u2022\t<strong>If <\/strong><strong>married <\/strong><strong>with <\/strong><strong>children <\/strong><strong>your <\/strong><strong>Estate <\/strong><strong>will <\/strong><strong>NOT <\/strong><strong>go <\/strong><strong>absolutely <\/strong><strong>to <\/strong><strong>your <\/strong><strong>spouse<\/strong>!<br \/>\n\u2022\t<strong>Your <\/strong><strong>Estate <\/strong><strong>could <\/strong><strong>go <\/strong><strong>to <\/strong><strong>family <\/strong><strong>members <\/strong><strong>you <\/strong><strong>have <\/strong><strong>not <\/strong><strong>seen <\/strong><strong>in <\/strong><strong>years<\/strong>!<br \/>\n\u2022\t<strong>If <\/strong><strong>unmarried <\/strong><strong>your <\/strong><strong>partner <\/strong><strong>will <\/strong><strong>have <\/strong><strong>to <\/strong><strong>make <\/strong><strong>a <\/strong><strong>claim <\/strong><strong>against <\/strong><strong>your <\/strong><strong>Estate <\/strong><strong>under <\/strong><strong>the <\/strong><strong>Inheritance <\/strong><strong>Provision <\/strong><strong>for <\/strong><strong>Family <\/strong>&#038; <strong>Dependents <\/strong><strong>Act <\/strong><strong>1975<\/strong>!<\/p>\n<p>To avoid all these and many more problems, the simple answer is to MAKE A WILL.
